Devon Support Group
About this group
Our group is usually held on the last Monday of the month between 6pm and 7.30pm.
Our new venue is in Newton Abbot; Sports Clinic and Wellness Rooms, Wharf Road, TQ12 2DA. We use a room on the ground floor which is easily accessible. Please do let me know if you have any special requirements.
Toilets are on the same level. We provide tea and coffee and on special occasions we may splash out on cake!
You are welcome to bring your own snacks.
We do not require people to wear masks but there is no judgement if you would like to.
There is free parking out the front of the building and round the back.
General Session Information
The group is for anyone who is experiencing or has had endometriosis. We also welcome anyone who is supporting someone with endometriosis. The purpose of the group is to find others, get support and raise awareness of endometriosis. We want to empower people to be able to manage and be back in control of their lives. We have informal meetings on a monthly basis. We sometimes invite speakers and try to focus on a different subject every month. We also love to do the occasional social meet and fundraising events!
It is important to understand that you are not alone and support can make such a positive difference to people’s lives. We look forward to meeting you!

KatieI was diagnosed with Endometriosis in 2012 after many years of symptoms that just didn't seem right. Since then I've had three further operations between 2015-2019. Getting the diagnosis was just the start of my journey as I wanted to find out more... how to live with and manage the condition. Lucky enough I found the Devon group in 2017 and really appreciate the support and understanding I have received from the group. |
AnaisI was diagnosed with endometriosis in early 2015 following 10 years of period problems and severe stomach pains. I had my first laparoscopy in May 2015, my second in June 2016, third in 2018 and had my 4th operation just before Xmas 2020. I have found endometriosis debilitating at times, isolating and difficult to talk about. As the closest support group was 100 miles away, I wanted to create a safe space for people in Devon to be able to support each other. I started the Devon group 7 years ago! |
