Hi there! My name is Liane and I was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2012.
Endometriosis is a condition you have for life and can cause physical and emotional pain. I know all too well how it can affect home life, which is why I decided to become a support group leader, to provide support to women and thier loved ones.
Whether you have only just been diagnosed or have been dealing with the condition for many years, talking to like minded people, going through similar struggles as your own, can help you feel less alone and empowered to overcome the trials endometriosis can offer.
I was lucky to have a very supporting partner and he has been there with me from the start. It can be difficult for others to understand what you are going through, but the support group is designed to give you a place to share your thoughts/concerns and can help others to understand the condition and how they can support you.
I began to have symptoms of endometriosis in my early teens which was often hard to manage during school and college. My symptoms increased and I was eventually diagnosed during university. When I met others with endometriosis, I realised how important it is to have people around you can relate to. I wanted something positive to come from my diagnosis which led me to volunteering with Endometriosis UK. I am hoping I can offer you a safe environment to get the support you need!
