Stop treating periods like a dirty secret; teach Menstrual Wellbeing

The Government are reviewing what should be included in the new Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) curriculum. We want Menstrual Wellbeing to be included. We want to overcome the stigma, taboo and embarrassment of talking about periods with all children, and for girls to know what’s ‘normal’, and what isn't, so they seek help. It takes 7.5 years on average to get a diagnosis of endometriosis. 1 in 5 women have heavy menstrual bleeding, but many don't seek help and continue to suffer because they don't realise it may be treatable. Many are too embarassed to talk about periods. This has to stop.
We need your help. The government are currently consulting on what should be included in the new RSE curriculum - please take part and give them your views. Take part in the Government consultation here.
