We're delighted to welcome the following employers to the scheme:
- Cardiff Council, which with nearly 15,000 staff becomes the largest local government body to make this commitment
“We’re delighted to join the Endometriosis Friendly Employer scheme to ensure we can start to better understand and support those in the workplace with endometriosis, as well as break down taboos about menstrual health. We look forward to working with Endometriosis UK, and hope that we’ll inspire others to join the scheme as well.” Cllr Huw Thomas, Leader of Cardiff Council - The Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA), a public body protecting workers from abuse and mistreatment in the agriculture, horticulture, shellfish gathering and related sectors
- Westway Vets, a veterinary practice with 15 branches across Tyne and Wear, Durham and Northumberland
- Howard Ward Associates, a civil and structural engineering practice based in Nottingham
- Ecorys UK, the UK arm of the Netherlands-based international research-based consultancy Ecorys.
- The Grove, a luxury resort hotel in Hertfordshire in the South East of England
- Nupsala, a Leicestershire-based wholesaler supplying the veterinary sector
- Lockton, a provider of risk management, insurance, employee benefits consulting and retirement services. Globally, it has more than 13,000 staff
These employers have signalled their intention to improve support for those with endometriosis in their workforce, as well as breaking down taboos and stigmas around menstrual health.
A recent report from Endometriosis UK and the HR software provider Ciphr, which is itself an EFE, showed that just 13% of HR professionals feel that their staff have the right resources and training to support colleagues with endometriosis.
As part of the scheme, these new EFEs will appoint Endometriosis Champions, who will receive training from Endometriosis UK, to enable them to provide support and information to colleagues.
Everyone at Endometriosis is delighted to welcome these three employers to the diverse range of organisations which are tackling taboos around menstrual health and endometriosis through the Endometriosis Friendly Employer scheme.
