Endometriosis UK launch LGBTQ+ online support group

On 28th May 2026, Endometriosis UK launches our national LGBTQ+ online support group.

This group has been developed following consultation with members of the LGBTQ+ community and co-produced with our volunteer facilitators to ensure it is accessible, culturally competent, and genuinely relevant to the people it has been designed to serve.

Why is this group needed?

Endometriosis affects roughly 1.5 million individuals in the UK, and for those in LGBTQ+ communities, living with the condition can bring its own distinct experiences and challenges.

LGBTQ+ people with endometriosis often have questions and needs that general support spaces may not always cover. Entitlements, treatment pathways, and the information needed to navigate them can look quite different depending on who you are, and finding support that reflects that can be harder than it should be. Navigating healthcare systems, relationships, intimacy, and mental health while managing a chronic condition can take on a different shape when your experience doesn't fit the assumed script, and accessing care confidently can be easier when the space you're in understands who you are.

Endometriosis support should reflect everyone it affects, including trans men, non-binary people, and the wider LGBTQ+ community. This group helps make that possible by centring LGBTQ+ experiences and offering community, information, and support that truly reflect people’s lives.

What to expect:

Our LGBTQ+ support group will run online via MS Teams, making it accessible no matter where you are in the UK.

The support group sessions will be facilitated by LGBTQ+ volunteers who have endometriosis themselves, so not only understand the condition, but also understand what it can be like to navigate a healthcare system that wasn't designed with you in mind. Please note that our volunteer facilitators are not medical professionals and are unable to give medical advice. They are here to listen, offer peer support, and signpost you to relevant resources and information. For any specific medical concerns, please contact your healthcare provider.

This is a space to:

  • Connect with others with shared experiences
  • Ask questions without fear of judgement or having to explain yourself
  • Access information that is relevant to you and your life

You do not need to have a formal diagnosis to join. Whether you're newly experiencing symptoms, awaiting diagnosis, or have been living with endometriosis for years, you are welcome here.

How to Join:
