Endometriosis UK To Continue Fertility in Wales Project

You may have recently seen the news that Fertility Network UK has taken the difficult decision to close and is no longer operating. This is deeply sad news for the many people who have used, supported and worked with the charity over the years. Fertility Network UK has played an important role in providing information, education and support to people affected by fertility issues, and its contribution will be greatly missed.

Following discussions with the charity, Endometriosis UK has agreed to take on the Fertility in Wales project, which is funded by National Lottery Wales.

The project aims to improve education, awareness and support relating to fertility across Wales. It is a four-year programme that is currently in its second year, and we are pleased to be able to provide a new home for this work and help ensure that people across Wales continue to benefit from the project's outcomes.

We want to reassure you that taking on this project will not reduce or divert resources from our work supporting those affected by endometriosis, and our commitment to the endometriosis community remains unchanged. Alongside this new project, we will continue to expand our support and information services, menstrual health education, and campaigning and advocacy work across Wales.

The Fertility in Wales project focuses on four key areas:

Education: working with young people, colleges and universities to improve understanding of fertility health, fertility preservation and the signs and symptoms of poor menstrual health.

Supporting GPs and HCPs: developing resources with GPs and HCPs to help support people who are waiting for referrals to fertility services.

Employers: working with employers to raise awareness of fertility issues in the workplace and support the development of fertility policies.

Support: providing fertility-focused support groups and events for people affected by fertility challenges.

We'd like to thank everyone at Fertility Network UK for their years of dedication, and we're looking forward to carrying this important work forward.
