Discussions about menstrual health are extremely important, and we are here to support small and medium-sized businesses in helping their staff cope with menstrual health conditions. 

The event will workplace advocacy, interactive workshops, and a Q&A session. During the event, we will delve into the topic of menstrual health and explore how it can affect people at work. We will also discuss how employers can create supportive workplaces.

Expert speakers will share their insights and experiences on creating supportive policies, educating employees about menstrual health, and fostering a culture of inclusivity and support. The interactive workshops will provide hands-on opportunities for attendees to learn and apply their knowledge to their workplaces. The workshops will cover topics such as developing policies and procedures, creating an inclusive workplace environment, and educating employees on menstrual health.

Claire McCartney
Senior Policy Adviser, Resourcing and Inclusion

Claire is a Senior Policy Adviser, Resourcing and Inclusion. She leads on policy work on flexible and new ways of working and resourcing and talent management. Claire also works in the area of equality, diversity and inclusion and leads policy work on carers, working parents and compassionate bereavement support. She also works with colleagues on menopause and menstrual health workplace support. Previously, Claire ran her own research and consultancy organisation and was acting head of research and principal researcher at Roffey Park. Claire has worked on several international projects, is the author of a range of reports, has responded to numerous Government consultations and has given evidence at a range of parliamentary groups and committees.

 

Lucy Johnson
People Care Lead, Services & Soultions

Lucy Johnson, People Care Lead, Services & Solutions at BP has has over 10 years experience with Human Resources in every aspect from admin, recruitment, to employee relations and HR operations. Many of these roles have required Lucy to research, develop and write policies. She has a passion for DE&I and believe that this starts with having strong policies in place to support women in the workplace. Lucy is hoping to share some of this knowledge with delegates on how to write policies that not only support employees but the organisation too.

 

Sian Campbell
Strategic Lead People and Place, Enterprise Fellow, University of Southampton

Sian is a Strategic Lead People and Place, Enterprise Fellow at the University of Southampton. Sian is Chartered Psychologist and an expert in social impact evaluation. She has led a wide range of projects focused on understanding the outputs and outcomes of large scale programmes and interventions. Sian is the external evaluator of Menstrual Wellbeing in the Workplace and in this interactive session she will share her early reflections and offer participants the opportunity to contribute to a discussion about future priorities for the programme.

The Eve Appeal
The Eve Appeal is the UK ‘s leading charity dedicated to all five gynecological cancers: womb, ovarian, cervical, vaginal and vulval. Our vision is to realise a future where gynae cancers are diseases of the past. The Eve Appeal funds world class research into the prediction and detection of these diseases, with the hope of stopping them before they start. 
The Eve Appeal runs a free workplace health and wellbeing programme funded by the Department of Health and Social Care. The programme, Every Woman Promise, aims to support women in the workplace,  challenge taboos that exist around all things gynae, raise awareness about the signs and symptoms of gynae cancers, HPV, cervical screenings and more. Every Woman Promise is free for businesses with less than 250 employees.

 

The Adeno Gang
The Adeno Gang supports, advocates and educates those with adenomyosis and other menstrual health conditions, to learn, educate and share knowledge on menstrual health and womb wellness. The Adeno Gang are dedicated to spreading awareness and championing the cause of adenomyosis, menstrual health and wellbeing.
