Celebrating Black History Month: Sanchia Alasia

Today we’re celebrating our incredible Trustee Sanchia Alasia, Assoc CIPD, FCMI, FRSA and former Mayor of Dagenham as part of #BlackHistoryMonth.

Despite the chronic pain she often experiences living with endometriosis, Sanchia has dedicated much of her career to raising awareness of endometriosis and driving change for the community. She joined our Board of Trustees in June 2020, is a member of our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Board of Trustees Group and runs an Endometriosis UK Support Group in Romford.

In her professional career, Sanchia works as a Director of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. Sanchia is dedicated to driving change and we’re incredibly proud to have her as part of our Board and Volunteer Team.

During her mandate as Mayor of Dagenham, Sanchia spent much of her time promoting diversity and inclusivity, especially in relation to invisible diseases like endometriosis.

We are incredibly grateful to Sanchia for all she does to raise awareness, drive change, and support others with endometriosis.
