Teesside and Durham Support Group
Annemarie is the group leader for the Endometriosis UK Teesside and Durham Support Group.
My story: I was diagnosed with Endometriosis in 2004 during my 3rd year of University, after many years of pain and unsympathetic doctors. Finding the Endometriosis UK forum and online community really helped me deal with the news and the local support group showed me that I wasn't alone. As a group leader I hope to offer the same support that I received and raise much needed awareness in the area. - Annemarie
About the support group: I hope these meetings help ease the sense of isolation and anxiety, by providing an environment to talk with others who understand what it means to live with this debilitating disease, vent our frustrations, celebrate our achievements, ask questions and share advice. On occasion we may also have special speakers who will speak on a variety of topics, aiming to arm ourselves with ways to manage the disease better. Partners, friends and family members who wish to discover more, are also invited to join us, unless specifically stated. The more people understand about Endometriosis, the better!
It's important to know that you are not alone, and I look forward to welcoming you there!
