Volunteers' Week: Annie - Office Volunteer

Annie volunteers in the Endometriosis UK office and is doing some really important work on our Membership programme. She's a central part of the team and all of the staff feel really lucky to have her involved with us.

Annie explains how using our support services encouraged her to get more involved.

I’ve been volunteering for a little over a year and chose to volunteer with Endometriosis UK because I wanted to give back to the charity that has helped me through one of the toughest times of my life. I was newly diagnosed and had just moved to the UK. Going to the Central London support group not only gave me important information regarding the condition, but also put me in touch with an extremely supportive community.

Endometriosis UK is a great charity to get involved with. I volunteer in the office and love seeing the behind the scenes of how this charity is able to support so many women across the UK. Everyone has been so lovely and I really recommend it.

The most rewarding part of my role is knowing that I’m playing a part in giving other women support too.

The most challenging (and fun) part of the role is learning to work in our new data management system. This will make communicating with our supporters and members much more effective!

If you live in London and could spare a few hours each week to support our office staff, please do get in touch!
