Southampton Group

My name is Ann and along with my husband Paul, we run the local Southampton Endometriosis UK group. How did we get to be involved with Endo UK? Well our daughter has endo and we have seen how the disease has developed with her.

Endometriosis is an insidious, painfully chronic condition affecting many parts of the body, seeming not to respond much to most treatments.

Naturally we try to help our daughter to cope and went along to our local support group to get more information for ourselves. Now we are doing what we can to support others in the area to understand and cope with their symptoms.

Southampton's Endo UK Support Group meets every other month. We enjoy having informal meetings as well as inviting speakers. To date, speakers have included a local Consultant Gynaecologist, an Acupuncturist and a Chiropractor, and we hope to enlist other relevant speakers over the forthcoming months. We have held informal discussions on pain management, diet and surgery and plan, occasionally, to hold more ‘social’ type evenings and do some local fund-raising as well."

Meetings this year:

Thurs 4th Dec 2008 - 7.30pm: "Reflexology - can it help with pain control?" - Helen West Reflexologist (demonstration planned)

Venue: The Grove Therapy Centre, 22 Grosvenor Road, Highfield, Southampton, SO17 1RT
