Hannah Mantle held a delicious Cake Bake to raise money and awareness for Endometriosis UK

 I decided to hold a Fundraising Cake Bake to raise funds for Endometriosis UK after I was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2008. I found a lot of people don't know or understand what endometriosis is and the effects that it can have on everyday life. I wanted to raise money but also awareness, which I think is just as important!
I spent nearly two days baking - my kitchen looked like a bomb had hit it! I had loads of fun trying out new recipes and made honey and banana loaf, banana and raisin loaf, rich chocolate brownies with white chocolate chips, fruity flapjacks, honey and oat flapjacks and lemon cake. I also received sponge cake and cookies as donations from friends and family. The day was a huge success and I had pretty much sold everything by 1pm! A lot of people asked me what endometriosis is as they hadn't heard of it and I gave out many leaflets to raise more awareness of the condition. The support I had from friends, family and the local community was absolutely fantastic and I can't thank everyone enough!
I managed to raise £85.42 which was far more than I was expecting. I was chuffed to bits with the support I received and would certainly hold another Cake Bake in the near future!
