Carol's 3 Peak Challenge

Carol and her dad in Norfolk
Carol's Dad celebrates his birthday with a lovely 10 mile hike!

Saturday 4th July: the pink pants go to Norfolk
pink speech marks This weekend, I’m in Norfolk celebrating my Dad’s birthday. Dad and his wife, Carol, arrange a lovely 10 mile training hike with a few hills and some beautiful coastline. We all really enjoy this hike – the hills are satisfyingly undulating – not terrifyingly vertical!! It’s scorching hot though – perhaps this IS our British summer?

Sunday 12th July: the pink pants traverse the South Downs Way

Richard Nichols joins carol to train for the 3 peaks challenge
Richard Nichols, who will also be wearing pink pants for the real thing!

Richard Nichols, a former trustee who climbed Kilimanjaro for Endometriosis UK about five years ago, and has valiantly agreed to join us on the three peaks in pink pants, arranges a fantastic 15 mile hike along the South Downs. He is a very experienced walker and it is a delight to catch up with him as we walk a beautiful stretch of the South Downs from Didling to Amberley. Again, we have lovely weather and meet some great people along the way, including several groups of campers walking the whole 99 miles of the South Downs Way – fantastic! Richard and I end the walk with a lovely cup of tea (mine with a mammoth piece of cake – well-deserved I think!). This is all very civilised!
